Mr. Oram has over 40 years experience in the martial arts, and is one of the world’s
leading authorities on the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu. Oram has 36 years experience in
Wing Chun, and is a Master Instructor under Grandmaster William Cheung. He has also
studied grappling, kickboxing, kali/escrima, Jeet Kune Do, karate, and both Asian &
European weaponry.
Oram has taught Wing Chun since 1985 to the general public, security, law enforcement
(police, FBI, Delta, Navy SEALS), and professional athletes (including members of the
San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals).
He has also trained many actors (such as Robert Downey Jr., Orlando Bloom, Christian
Bale), and is an actor and fight choreographer (including Sherlock Holmes 1 & 2, Iron
Man 3, The Avengers), with 25 years experience in stage, TV, and film.
Over the past 20 years, Oram has written for, and/or been featured in numerous martial
arts, fitness, and media publications, including: Black Belt Magazine, Inside Kung Fu
Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, American Health and Fitness, Men’s Journal, The
Los Angeles Times, and also appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, with student Robert
Downey, Jr.
In addition, Oram has authored the book, “Modern Wing Chun: A Guide to
Practical Combat & Self Defense.”
