The course teaches basic marksmanship fundamentals, firearm safety using a simulated pistol with a resetting trigger and laser to indicate where the shots hit. The NRA Pistol Marksmanship Simulator Training Course is designed to teach first time shooters basic marksmanship fundamentals, firearm safety, sight alignment, aiming, trigger control, grip, stance, and breath control. Students completing this course will receive a certificate from the NRA in addition to printed materials useful for future studying.
A simulator pistol will be used during this course of instruction. The simulated pistol (SIRT) has a resetting trigger and it uses a laser light to indicate where students shots hit. The SIRT pistol has enough weight to feel realistic, it includes a removable simulated magazine and realistic sights. Computer software will be use to record shots and provide instant feedback for students and our instructors, as well as a webcam for recording shots.*No LIVE Firearms or Ammunition will be used in any fashion during this course of instruction. Those individuals interested in advancing their skills and live-fire exercises should follow-up this training with the NRA Basic Pistol Course.
Students may attend this course as a basis to decide whether or not they would like to follow-up by taking the full length Basic Pistol Course with live fire, or simply learn to improve their marksmanship skills.
